The Sound Shark offers a superior option to traditional shotgun microphones. With its collector designed to amplify sound by concentrating energy onto a single point, the Sound Shark excels at isolating your subject while minimizing background noise interference. By utilizing an omni-directional lapel mic (sold separately), the Sound Shark surpasses typical shotgun microphones with its ability to capture audio from distances of 30 feet or more, as opposed to the limited range of 3 to 5 feet.

This innovative device enables you to record a speaker from up to 6 feet away, achieving a similar effect to using a lapel mic. The Sound Shark excels in rejecting peripheral noise compared to shotgun microphones, making it ideal for outdoor recording with significantly reduced wind disturbances. To ensure optimal audio quality, a high-quality omni-directional lapel mic must be inserted into the Sound Shark.

The Sound Shark is also compatible with either a 3.5mm microphone, available in the "Sound Shark Premium Microphone Kit," or an XLR microphone, found in the "Sound Shark Equalized Microphone Kit." These kits are recommended as the microphones have been specifically tested and proven to enhance the performance of the Sound Shark.

Equipped with a flash shoe adapter for easy attachment to your camera, the Sound Shark can be mounted on various devices such as tripods or light stands using a 1/4-20 threaded stud. Additionally, the mounting joint features nylon screws that protect your hot shoe from damage in case of accidental drops or impacts.

Although the Sound Shark boasts high sensitivity, resulting in excellent performance for recording purposes, it is not suitable for sound reinforcement or PA applications.
